Hi....

I am considering making a change that will take effect in May of 2011, I feel that the event will be better for the pilots and
spectators if:
.25ci is the maximum displacement permitted starting in May 2011.
MAAC rules state that their must be 500' from the spectator line for each cubic inch of displacement.
Presently at .47ci the combat engagement line is 235' from the spectator line/fence. At .25ci the line would be 125' away
a reduction of almost half.
I realize that buying a new engine and building a new plane is an inconvenience, but building planes is what we are all about.
and you can get a 25 from GMS(64$), OS, Webra, Fox, ASP, MVVS, SC and there are still many on RCU and Ebay.

Here are some of the positives:
Having the fur ball closer will give the pilots and a much better view and should result in more cuts and kills and fun for the pilots
and spectators.
Finding your plane after a crash will be easier, and lighter planes should have a better chance of survival.
Most of the custom combat designs/kits are made for the 25.
In North America the "open B class" is by far the most common.
I am hoping to demonstrate this May the difference that this change will make.

I think the changes are a good thing. Closer to the pilots, better chances of cuts, better view for the spectators...etc. Well done Darel!!

That leaves me out then....I have too many planes now, and not about to build another one....
Good luck with it.

Wayne,

So you are assuming your planes make it through the 2 events this year? The changes aren't planned until 2011.....   Grin
